Research Experience Requirement

The department of psychology at Christopher Newport University requires all students enrolled in PSYC 201 and 202 to complete at least one hour's worth of research credit to support the university’s mission of providing students with applied learning experiences outside of the classroom. Students may satisfy the research experience requirement by participating in one or more research studies, or by completing a two-page written assignment. Students electing to participate in the research option may register for psychological studies via the department's web-based registration system (http://cnu.sona-systems.com). Students electing to complete the written assignment option may obtain instructions for completing this alternative assignment at the following web address (http://psychology.cnu.edu/hpp/alternative_credit_FALL_09.pdf). If you have any questions about the research experience requirement, or the registration system, DO NOT ask your instructor. Instead, please contact the Human Participant Pool Committee (HPPC) at the following email address: hppc@cnu.edu.
